Alias Vibrating Strap-On Review

Alias Vibrating Strap-On Review

October 5, 2011 by:

A few years ago I was for the first time experimenting anal play on Steve, we had used slim hand-held toys but we wanted more so we had the idea of using a strap-on but wasn’t entirely sure if it was for us. On one of our regular visits to a local high-street sex toy store we came across the Alias Vibrating Strap On. Would the Alias convert us to the pegging way of life?

Design / Shape / Size

To be blunt the Alias dildo is wide, not particularly long but wide! Once we got it home we quickly realized how big it was once we properly looked at it. The Alias dildo has a curve to it which starts around half way up the shaft which is designed to stimulate the g-spot or prostate. The dildo has many pronounced veins all over the shaft, more-so than any real penis I have seen. I really don’t know why many sex toy manufacturers go over the top with veins on dildos! The dildo is also quite heavy for it’s size which is probably due to the vibrator inside.

The dildo is actually attached to the harness unlike many other products on the market which tend to be O-Ring styled so we’re not able to switch between dildos which isn’t ideal. The harness section of this product is elastic and very stretchy which accommodates waist sizes of 27 to 46 inches which should accommodate most people but there is no large version of this product for people over 46 inches.

You can adjust the tightness of the leg straps as it has adjustable straps that buttons on the waist band of the product. Once you get the right size for you it’s easy just to leave it buttoned to the right size so it’s very quick to harness up, this is very important for us as we hate getting tangled up and confused with an abundance of straps in the moment of passion.

The smallness of the straps allows my vagina and ass to be fully shown and easily accessible for Steve or me to pleasure. This is a big plus for us as many harnesses cover up these areas making stimulating them difficult or even impossible.

Functions / Controls

The Alias has a wire that travels from the base of the dildo that goes to a variable vibration strength controller which holds 2 AA batteries. The vibrations start from extremely mild to moderately strong but it is very good that you can accurately control the vibrations to the exact strength we would like.

As the controller is wired there is the issue of where we put it when wearing the harness as having it dangling whilst I am thrusting away is a pain. I found that simply placing it in-between the waist strap and me worked quite well as it holds it in place securely and is always easily accessible whenever I want to change vibration strength.

Care / Cleaning

The Alias Strap-On is not a good product to care for and clean to be honest. We have tended to wash the dildo with hot soapy water and use some good sex toy cleaner on it which does the trick but when we wash the product we get concerned about the wire from the controller.

The product contains phthalates which can cause health issues and also contains latex, if we knew what we knew now about the issues with phthalates we would never have purchased this item (I’m a health freak).

Rox’s Experience

Rox Says“Putting on the Alias is very quick and easy due to the simplicity of the harness but I don’t find it to be very comfortable and the straps that go over my vagina irritate me. I feel the vibrations slightly when I’m wearing the Alias but it doesn’t feel particularly good and have tended to turn the vibrations off. The controller when held between the waist strap and my waist starts off comfortable but after a while it digs into me and I end up wanting to rip the cable out of the dildo all-together. I would have preferred the dildo to be more realistic looking and not purple as it’s hard to get into character with an obvious fake appendage.”

Steve’s Experience

Steve Says“Even with copious amounts of lube penetrating with the Alias is extremely difficult, uncomfortable and usually painful for me. The saying eyes bigger than the belly certainly fits well with this! When Rox has managed to penetrate the vibrations do not do anything for me and the pronounced veins are irritating and far from pleasurable. The curved head also doesn’t stimulate my prostate at all which is surprising due to the sheer size of the thing. I do like stiff dildos but the Alias is very inflexible which makes penetration even harder (pardon the pun).”

Overall Opinion

We have never got along with the Alias as the wideness of the dildo was too much for Steve, and now that he can take bigger sizes we are now aware of the issues with phthalates so this product doesn’t get used now. Due to the cheapness of this product many beginner pegging couples (like us back in the day) would be tempted by the Alias Vibrating Strap-On but we would advise against this product if you are new to anal.

This product may be quite good for girl on girl sex if on a very small budget and don’t really mind about the issues of phthalates. But we would definitely suggest purchasing a better product as the Alias could easily put you off the experience.
