Discover Your Lover Game Review

We love playing games sexual and non sexual so when we had the opportunity to test and review a sexy couples game ‘Discover Your Lover‘ kindly provided to us by Nice ‘n’ Naughty we couldn’t wait to try it out and what better time to test this game out than our very delayed honeymoon.

Board / Cards / Others

The game includes a very well designed and manufactured board. It can look a bit daunting at first with lots of different types of landing spaces and places for cards but with the included very informative instructions getting to understand the game and how its played is relatively easy.

The cards aren’t the best quality we have seen and can get damaged quite easily either by sitting on them or having lubricated hands. We would have liked the cards to be laminated in some way to prolong the life of them. We feel that due to the amount of cards supplied the manufacturers may have decided it wouldn’t be financially feasible to laminate all the cards as it would have increased the game price by quite a bit.

This game does include most of the things you need to play the game however for certain tasks you may need the following items to complete the task…

• Lubricant
• Massage Oil
• Whipped Cream
• Candles

How To Play

The aim of the game is to get as quickly around the board as possible and the winner is supposed to win an agreed his/her fantasy acted out at the end of the game for their prize. The players take it in turns to roll the die (which only goes up to 3 which lengthens the game) and whichever spot they land on they need to answer either a easy, difficult or intimate question if they answer correctly they can move up to 3 spaces forward depending on the difficulty of the question.

Other spaces on the this adult sex game require you to do tasks, at the start of the game these tasks are very basic and mainly involve massaging your partner (in a non sexual area) for the time specified on the card using the sand timers. The further you progress around the board the tasks become more and more erotic and some cards even request full penetration in positions displayed on the card.

You do not have to act out these tasks but if you do not complete the task at all or to your partners liking then you do not get to move extra moves forward after the task. This ability to stop your partner from moving forward spaces if they fail to complete a task to your liking after a task is a nice idea and makes them have extra powers but it can get a little unfair if your partner says you’ve failed every task just so that they win the game. But I gather if they did that, then they would not get their fantasy afterwards due to basically cheating. There is also places on the board that if you land on them they require you to massage your partner.

The Questions

There is a wide variety of questions in the game from the innocent to obscure, there are many questions about the results of various Durex surveys. The questions usually seem to be interesting and at times amusing especially when it comes to the explanations of the answers as they can be downright hilarious at times.

We found the Intimate questions more interesting than the general sex knowledge questions as it was more about and allowed us to discuss our sexual lives in detail and explore our desires and our history together.

The Tasks

The tasks vary greatly, a large portion of the tasks do involve massaging your partner, and not in a sexual way so it’s important to have some massage oil at hand before starting this game as it can become a large portion of your play.

As the game progresses the tasks become more and more erotic and we feel some tasks will push the boundaries of what couples are comfortable in experimenting in, but it’s easy enough to not complete the task if either of you are not interested in doing a specific task.

Game Length

The time it takes to play the game can vary greatly we have found depending on the tasks and questions selected in a specific game. We have found on average it takes around 45 minutes to complete the game fully which is a nice amount of time and you most likely want to jump on each other afterwards after playing this (if you get that far as the tasks can get quite steamy).

At not point have we got bored and very rarely get a repetition of a question due to large amount and questions and tasks. Once we play the game more and more we will eventually get to a point where we have answered all the questions and done all the tasks but it will take quite a while thanks to the amount of cards supplied.

Our Experience

We found the best way to learn how to play this game is learn the rules as you go along as at first glance it can be quite daunting due to the large amount of cards and spaces but we quickly got the hang of it and now we no longer have to check the rules whilst playing.

We have played this game quite a few times now and really love playing it as it’s lots of fun and has proven to be a great start to some really good sex sessions thanks to it’s teasing well thought out questions and tasks. There has been plenty of times where we have been rolling in laughter whilst playing this game and it has proven to be a great addition to our collection.

Overall Opinion of Discover Your Lover

If only every game was like ‘Discover Your Lover’! It really is a great game and we feel it’s good for new and long term couples looking to explore their sex-lives and have fun at the same time. This game spiced up our holiday and has become our favourite sex game in our collection.
